While management hinted that order volumes improved in April, it is not clear how much growth that will translate to, though sequential improvement was expected. Overall, this was a weaker quarter.
Shares of semiconductor designer Power Integrations (NASDAQ:POWI) fell 7.4% in the afternoon session after the company reported weak first quarter 2025 results, its inventory levels increased and revenue was only in-line with expectations. The result revealed muted sequential growth, as sales edged up just slightly from the prior quarter despite growing 15% year-over-year. Looking ahead, revenue guidance for next quarter was just in line as well.
On the other hand, Power Integrations beat analysts' adjusted operating income and EPS expectations this quarter.
Still, we think this was a mixed quarter. The market seemed to be hoping for more.

On the other hand, its revenue slightly missed. Overall, we think this was a solid quarter with some key areas of upside.

Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG) shares are trading lower Wednesday after the company reported first-quarter results that showed revenue growth, but a wider-than-expected loss.
The company reported diluted net income per share of $0.13 for the three months through the end of March, compared to a loss of $0.28 in the corresponding period of 2024.
